Grilled Pie
from Jan Laus of Tuscaloosa, AL

2 pieces of soft sandwich bread (preferably white)
Canned pie filling
Butter or Margarine (soft, for spreading)

You will need a pie iron and campfire or fireplace.

 
 
Spread butter or margarine on the OUTSIDE of the slices of bread.

Place the first slice, spread side down, on the pie iron. Open your can of pie filling, and spread thickly on the slice of bread.

Cover with the second slice of bread, spread side up, then close it shut.

Put in the fire for a few minutes, turning so each side browns.


Open the pie irons and drop onto a plate, being careful not to burn yourself!

Now you are ready to eat it!


A nice soft white bread would have been perfect!
